The 2nd edition of the Space Exploration Masters is open for submissions now! The international innovation competition is scouting for new business ideas from 1 May until 31 July 2018. The Space Exploration Masters annually awards the best products, services, and business ideas providing concrete business opportunities to strengthen the benefits of Space Exploration to society. Thus, its mission is to exploit the large potential offered by Space Exploration for the creation of innovative applications and solutions. Initiated by the European Space Agency (ESA) in 2017, the Space Exploration Masters has become a main pillar to implement the goals of the ESA Space Exploration strategy.
The Space Exploration Masters has the support of strong world-class partners and is carried out by AZO. As a global endeavor, Space Exploration requires international industrial and institutional cooperation. Investments in new topics and application areas contribute to economic growth and open up new business opportunities, while countless unique values will be generated for knowledge, science and technology advancement. At the same time, Space Exploration addresses fundamental questions about the origin, uniqueness and destiny of humankind and thus may inspire and have wide cultural implications.
In 2017, more than 400 participants from over 30 nations have taken part, and the experts have selected and rewarded 6 winners with approximately EUR 600,000. Previous winners have demonstrated the competition’s ability to foster the development of innovative applications and stimulate business growth worldwide. ESA SPACE SOLUTIONS PRIZE
In addition to the above Partner Challenges, participants have the chance to also apply for the ESA Space Solutions Prize. Among all entries the proposal with the best business model will be awarded a feasibility study (valued at EUR 40,000).
The Overall Winner is selected from the five challenge winners by public voting and receives two full working days of expert advice valued at EUR 2,000 for business development and fundraising.
