Description

The Brenthurst Foundation is inviting applications from young graduates from anywhere in the world, but with a keen interest in Africa, to apply for the Machel-Mandela Fellowship 2019. The fellowship commencing April 2019 and tenable at Brenthurst Foundation’s headquarters in Johannesburg will run for a minimum of 6 months. Fellows may be from Africa or abroad, but they will be based at the Brenthurst Foundation’s headquarters in Parktown, Johannesburg. Fellows will work directly with and assist the Foundation’s staff on a range of projects and activities, some of which will require foreign travel.

Benefits

Fellows will be paid an all-inclusive monthly stipend per month and accommodation will be provided.

Eligibility

Applicants must be below 30 years of age, in possession of an Undergraduate or Masters degree. They need to be proficient in English and possess excellent communication skills. Knowledge of African and other languages is an asset. Applicants should be enthusiastic and reliable individuals, who are self-starters requiring minimal oversight and management. They need to be able to balance deadlines and attention to detail. They must have a passion for Africa and a keen interest in strengthening Africa’s economic performance. Possession of copy-editing and proof-reading skills is an asset.
